MOSCOW (AFP)--Two thousand people, the overwhelming majority Russian citizens, have died in South Ossetia since the current fighting started in the region, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said Sunday, quoted by news agencies.
"The results have been catastrophic. More than 2,000 people have died, most of them Ossetians, the majority Russian citizens," ITAR-TASS quoted Karasin as saying.
